We have developed a layered approach which includes: Team coaching, Group coaching, and Individual coaching. These have been meshed together to provide a unique concept to offer awesome opportunities for player development.

Group Workouts... winter

The Winter Group Workouts will begin next week... hitting Monday January 24 and bullpens Tuesday January 25. They will run for three consecutive weeks. Your coaches have done a great job working with me to complete the scheduling process, which has been a big task. Please confirm with your coach that you know the days/times scheduled for your son and have them at the workouts on time. If for some reason you must miss a workout, please notify your coach who will in turn notify me. The schedule will be posted on the PSA website under White Sox.

I want to make you aware of the process involved in the group workouts...
  1. These workouts are primarily intended to provide repetitions. They are not individual lessons and are not intended to be instructional in nature. Minimal instruction will occur, however, the focus will be on reps which are an integral part of player development.
  2. The bullpen workouts are designed to give our pitchers an opportunity to get in additional work with their catchers prior to the season start. The more they work together, the better they will perform. This is why it is important for our pitchers to throw their bullpen to their catcher. The bullpen routine will include... work on making first pitch strikes, throwing to both sides of the plate, throwing from the stretch and windup, work on fastballs, changeups, and slip pitches, and alternating pitch combinations.
  3. Batting practice sessions will provide work that will include T, Flip, and Live hitting.
  4. Both the bullpen and BP sessions are set up for 30 minutes. This will allow ample time for each player to get in a lot of work since only 2 players are involved with each.
  5. Parents, please do not congregate in the bullpen or BP areas and please do not coach your son during the workouts.
These Group Workouts are included as part of your package as a SOX player. In addition to GW you have available to you 2 free lessons and 10 hours of customized instruction per team.
